THE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT "TOPIC L"

Topic L whose real name is Nonyane Nketsi is a Sotho Hip

Hop artist that was born (10th August 1991) and bred in

small town called Winburg in the Free State province. He

started penning his own rhymes at a young age in prima-

ry school and kept on improving as he grew older. He

was primarily inspired by internationally renowned Hip

Hop giant, Jay Z and the late South Africa's very own leg-

endary Motwako's HHP and Zulu/Kasi Rap pioneer, Pro.

He released his first song titled "Hape" in 2010 and a project

called "Lesole La Ntwa," and he later used the project title to

name his clothing brand. His first project contained ten songs on

which he worked with a producer and homie called Mike Baka-

mela. On the very same project, Topic L had a song titled "Ho Et-

sahalang," meaning what's happening in Sotho, which got play-

listed on SABC's Lesedi FM and he was also interviewed by the

legendary radio personality, Thuso Motaung. He also got fea-

tured on Mzansi's most read newspaper, Daily sun.

Topic L has has been out and about performing on major events in his turf and out-

side. He has been part of events such as Oddz Festival Central University of Technolo-

gy, Alfred Nzo Awards Welkom, MMM event in Sandton alongside Khuli Chana, the

late Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP) and more others.

The biggest moment or highlight of his career is when he was part of a women's

centered event which also afforded him an opportunity to mingle with famous

television stars he grew up watching on TV such as Tinah Mnumzana, Connie Chuene

and Themba Nofemele. In the next couple of years, Topic L, pictures himself doing

it big in the South African music business and getting recognised even beyond borders.
